Changing Seasons

I wish I was talking about the weather, but it seems like winter just doesn't want to leave! We get a few nice days and then it's snowing again. Yuck!

Anyway, the best change of season is the end of tax season! April 15th is a day that can only truly be appreciated by tax widows. Jared did get to take a few days off, but he probably didn't feel like he got much of a break. My wonderful husband spent a good part of April 16th cleaning the house. Some of the more labor intensive jobs like scrubing the tub, mopping the floors, and vaccuming the stairs had gone left undone for too long thanks to our 3rd son causing me quite a bit of back pain lately. Jared didn't even complain, and I felt so much better without all the dirty reminders of what I should be getting done. That evening we went to dinner with Jared's parents, and then I got to go to girl's night out. So I guess April 16th was my day off. We did get to do a few enjoyable things like attending the temple, having a BBQ with family, and spending an afternoon at the driving range while he was off. We are all so glad that Daddy is home again!

The next change of season also means more Dad time. Yesterday Jared was released from the bishopric after 4 years. I had about 30 seconds to think about what it would be like to go to church as a family and all sit together, before he was called to serve in the high council. I guess we will still be going to church in two separate vehicles, but at least he'll get to be with us some of the time and I don't think he will have quite as much going on during the week. Actually I feel really good about this call. We have great men in our stake presidency and high council and it will be a wonderful opportunity for Jared to learn from them. He loves to serve and I think he might have felt a little lost if he had left church yesterday without knowing how exactly he would be doing that. I know that our family needs the blessings we receive through his faithful service and I am grateful for a husband who is a worthy and willing priesthood holder.

Yea for the end of tax season! You would have the recital to be getting ready for now...... but not this year! Do you want to still go to a recital on June 6th with me?

Our tax man is still doing our taxes. He did an extention for us because he was so busy. YUCK! We will miss Jared in the bishopbric.
