January Blahs!
We started off the New Year with everyone (except Eli) puking and it seems like we just haven't got the hang of being healthy yet this year. I have been having headaches and chills and hot flashes, probably due to my thyroid and hormones still not being regulated. Eli has been teething and seems to be miserable due to that. The begining of last week Pason missed a morning of school because he had the chachas. Then he came home from school Wednesday with a rash and was acting funny Thursday morning so I took him to the doc and found out he had scarlet fever. This weekend Eli came down with a fever, isn't sleeping, and just acts like something hurts, so the doc put him on antibiotics today since we have the strep bacteria in our house already from Pason. I am exhausted and just can't wait for Spring so we can get some fresh air into this germ infested house! I hope I can get some sleep tonight, and I will dream about green grass, sunshine, and tulips!

Happy 6th Birthday Pason!
I can't believe my 1st born is 6 years old! He got to celebrate 2 times. Once at Grandma Gage's and of course at home. I was worried about doing a cake because I am still in a brace from my surgery, but came across this dinosaur cake idea. It was perfect because that's one of his favorite things at the moment. Carter and I made the cake while Pas was at school, and surprised him with it when he got home. He had angel food cake with white sticky frosting at his early birthday at Grandma's. He put rainbow sherbet on that one to make it colorful! He was super excited about the hot wheels watch we got him, and likes to tell us what time it is now. He also got G-Force, Trios, rockets, glow in the dark planets and stars, a Hop55, and his first Legos. Yippee! He has been so spoiled between Christmas and birthday, I am tempted to put half of the new stuff away til July so the excitement is spread out a bit. We are so blessed to have Pason has a part of our family. He is so smart, and has done so well in school this year. He is caring and always looks out for his brothers and gets upset when he thinks Carter might get left behind. He has a strong desire to do what is right. I hope he will continue to have that desire. We are so proud of him and love our Pason-Boy very much!

Christmas Memories
We had a great Christmas this year. We were still finishing up shopping on Christmas Eve, and I also got my splint off from my wrist surgery that day. That night for dinner we made Hawaii breakfast for dinner (breakfast potato skins like the ones at Freds in Maui, French toast with coconut syrup, and pineapple juice, yum!). Then we dressed up in our costumes from the ward party while dad read the Christmas story from the scriptures. The boys opened their Christmas Eve present. What a surprise it was new pajamas! We hung stockings, set out cookies, and went to bed. Eli was the first one awake Christmas morning, about 7am, but all he cared about was eating, so after I fed him we woke up Pason and Carter. Santa had left 2 Wii remotes by the tree and a trail of candy leading downstairs to the TV where there was the Wii the boys had asked for. Then we opened presents, had breakfast, and opened a few more presents. That afternoon we went to Aunt Pootsie's house for prime rib and crab dinner where the boys got to exchange cousin presents with the Love's and Witts. It was a day full of fun and family. Yeah they got pretty spoiled! It felt like they were opening presents all day! Thank you to grandmas, grandpas, cousins, aunts and uncles for everything.
Eli loved tearing, shaking, and eating the wrapping paper!
Pason's treasures.
Carter was excited about Cars Race-O-Rama.
Eli was happy with his penguin and bibs.

Santa Visits Dad's Office
Once again, Santa made a stop at Eide Bailly. The boys were excited to tell Santa they wanted a Wii for Christmas, although Carter was a little hesitant. Eli had his first visit with Santa, but I think he was more aware of the cameras pointed at him than he was of the big guy.

A Night in Bethlehem
As the ward activities director I decided to do something for our ward Christmas party this year that had been done in my ward as a child and left a big impression on me. It was a lot of work, but in the end I thought it turned out to be a great evening. We assigned each auxillary to help decorate the cultural hall for A Night in Bethlehem. Families were invited to dress up in biblical attire (towels and bathrobes were sure the rage back then ;-)!), and come to be counted. We served chicken ceasar salad pitas, fruits, cheese, olives and some traditional cookies. We had a census, and a tax collector, and even a roman centurion thanks to dryer vent duct tape and one very creative priest in our ward! The evening ended with the Christmas story being read and portrayed while everyone sang hymns of the season. I can only speak for myself, but I thought it was a great way to focus on the Savior and escape the commercial bustle of the season.

Happy New Year!
What a crazy last month! I am excited to be starting a new year. I have a bunch of pictures to post of our December happenings, and now that I have a new computer maybe I can actually get them loaded on here.
We came up to Grandma and Grandpa Gage's house for the New Year, which turned out to be pretty pukey for us. Literally, Carter got sick in the car on the way up here. I was next, then Jared, and Pason joined the party just before we rang in 2010. Most of us are feeling better, but Carter's still not quite up to par. He slept today while Pason and Grandpa dug a snow tunnel. Anyway, I will try and get caught up in the next week, but we still have a birthday to get through on Monday so don't get too anxious. Happy 2010!
