Out Like a Lion

The title of this post could refer to the weather, the kids attitudes, or as every year Jared's work schedule. After absolutely no snow for most of January and all of February it decided to snow the day before Easter. Then Easter was beautiful 50 something weather. Now it is snowing again. I am grateful for the moisture, but I am really ready for those April showers. Easter weekend Jared's family came to visit. We dyed easter eggs, went to Horton Hears a Who, and had a yummy Easter dinner at the Witt's home. They had to leave Sunday afternoon, but then more grandparents came the next day. My parents spent a week with us. They helped get our yard power raked, and worked on the sandbox for the boys. The boys enjoyed playing "Space Monster" with grandpa while Mom helped me make strawberry jam. Jared and I were even able to sneak in a 20 minutes ice cream date after our temple recommend interviews while the boys were home with grandma and grandpa. As much as we loved all of the company, schedules do get thrown out of whack. Carter wouldn't nap for 3 days. Yesterday he fell asleep out of sheer exhaustion I think, so we'll see how today goes. They haven't been too bad so far considering all the attention they got over the past 10 days. Luckily we have lots to keep us busy for the next 2 weeks until tax season is over.

Carter's Happy Birthday

Carter woke up on his second birthday to a Mickey Mouse pancake with 2 candles in it, courtesy of Dad. He was pretty excited about his happy bir-day and kept singing the happy birthday song all day. Mom spent the afternoon decorating his cake, which is not an easy task when you have two little boys who are both very eager to help. We celebrated with the Loves and Witts. Carter ripped right into his presents. Pason kept bringing the presents one right after another. I don't know if Carter even had time to see what he had opened before Pason was sticking the next one in his face. After presents Carter blew out the candles on his Lightning McQueen cake and we ate cake and ice cream while all the kids tried out the new toys. It's always fun to have all the little kids together. After everyone left we tried to get the boys to bed, but Carter wasn't ready for his birthday to be over. There were so many new toys to play with and I think he was a little wired from all the sugar. Anyway I am glad he had such a good birthday.

The Countdown!

Sickos

Well ,I guess it's about time we join the blogging world. I keep having friends tell me to check out their blogs and it's so much fun to see everyone's that I thought maybe it would be fun to do one myself. Plus I am stuck in this house with sick boys so I can blog while they watch Lightning McQueen for the 100 millionth time! Today I stayed home from church again. In the last month I've been to church once. Today both boys stayed home too. Carter's fever came back last night and was 105.3 degrees at 5 this morning. Pason was hacking and he was running about 103 degree temperature. I took Carter to the Children's Clinic this afternoon. After a throat culture and chest x-rays we were told it must just be another virus. I guess I'm glad he doesn't have pnemonia, but I hate that there is nothing you can do for a virus. I think I am going to have to buy stock in Clorox and Lysol before we all get healthy. I really hope we can get everyone feeling better this week before Carter's birthday. When I was up with him last night I asked him how old he was going to be on his birthday. He held up his hand with all his little fingers sticking out. I tried to help him to bunny ears with his fingers and told him he was going to be 2. He said "No fee." I said "no two". He said "No, Mommy, Fee!" I guess he is just trying to catch up to his brother.
