Happy 3rd Birthday Carter!

Carter had a great birthday yesterday. Daddy made him birthday breakfast in the morning and Mom spent the morning making a Little Einstein's Rocket cake. I think it turned out pretty well, and Carter loved it so I guess it was a success. Dad got to come home in time for birthday dinner (a rare treat this time of year) and then Love's and Witt's came over for cake. Carter ripped into his presents much to the dismay of Pason who was hoping his brother would need some help. I can't believe my Carter-bug is 3. He is such a silly and loving boy, and brings so much love and laughter into our home. We love you Carter!

Escape to Idaho

We decided we needed a break from tax season, so the boys and I headed down to my parents house last week. We couldn't leave until Wednesday morning because Pason had kindergarten registration Tuesday night (do I really have a kid old enough to be going to school?!!!). After 8 long hours we made it, exhausted but excited to be there. Thursday we played at grandma and grandpa's house and then went to Poky's musical "Footloose" that night. The boys did really well. Carter fell asleep just before intermission and Pason made it partly through the second act. When they were awake they seemed to enjoy the show though. Friday we went to lunch and then the boys went home with grandpa while my mom and I did some shopping. I think I over did it though. I was so tired I ended up sick that evening. Saturday I was feeling much better. We went to my brother Erick's tennis match and watched him win his first varsity match! That afternoon we had a little early birthday party for Carter and then my brother Sean and his wife Candida helped us make pretzels. What a great activity for kids! Sunday we went to church and then jumped right in the van to head home. My dvd player stopped working about 1 hour into the drive. Luckily the boys both fell asleep. Then my "check tire" warning came on. Of course I was no where near anywhere. I got out and couldn't see any low tires, so I reset the warning and figured if there really was a problem it would come on again. Thank goodness it didn't. When the boys woke up I stopped to try to fix the dvd player. No luck. So I thought I would put in some Disney CD's they could sing along to. Can you believe it my CD player wouldn't eject the CD's that were already in it. I decided I better just drive and get home as quickly as possible. We finally did get one CD in and we made it home in 6 1/2 hours thanks to not stopping for dinner. It was nice to get away, but I think staying home for the rest of this pregnancy sounds like a pretty good idea!
