Surviving

Okay, now that I can count the number of days on my fingers and toes...let the countdown begin! 20 days of tax season left. I am actually surprised at how quickly it has gone this year. Especially considering that we couldn't escape to grandparents' houses now that Pason has school. That being said this last two weeks feels like everything got put into slow motion. Probably because I am getting anxious now. Luckily we have great friends and family who have provide a much needed break from the monotony now and then. Next week we have some fun planned and then we're almost done. Poor Jared is probably going to need a week to recover. Eli has been a little stinker lately. After 5-6 months of being a great sleeper he decided that Mom and Dad needed a challenge. He not only wakes up several times every night, but he doesn't seem to think he needs naps anymore either. Instead he just gets cranky and wants Mom to hold him or at the very least be in the same room with him all day long. I keep thinking it's teething, but he hasn't had any new teeth since he was 5 months. This morning when Jared's alarm went off I thought "Yay Eli finally slept all night!" Only to find out that Jared had been up on the couch with him. I was just so tired that I didn't even hear him. He needs to learn how to crawl so he tires himself out more during the day, but he doesn't seem in a hurry to go anywhere. A part of me is glad because being non-mobile makes him seem more like a baby still which I am very happy to let him be...I just need a litttle more sleep!

I set Eli in his crib the other day and turned around to get clothes out of the dresser. When I turned around there he was looking very proud of himself!

Carter-Bug is 4!

I am always amazed each time a birthday rolls around how fast the time seems to have gone. I can not believe it has been 4 years since I got my St. Patty's Day surprise with Carter's early arrival. He has been such a joy! He has such a happy easy going spirit. Last night he said to Pason, "when I'm sad I just decide to be happy again!" And when he smiles that cheesy smile he just lights up the room with those big dimples. He got to celebrate a day early so that his cousins (Loves and Witts) could come celebrate with us. I made a baseball birthday cake, and he had a baseball pinata. He got his yellow bike and I'm pretty sure he won't have the training wheels on for long. (Pason has already been trying to teach Carter to ride his bike.) Today Dad woke him up with his birthday breakfast and he is enjoying playing with all his new things! We sure love our Carter-Bug!

Spring Fever

The sun is shining. The sky is clear and blue. It is still cold, but warm enough that the snow is melting. I bought a shorts set for Eli today. Can't wait til it's warm enough for him to wear it. My vitamin D stores are all used up so I am praying that spring isn't far away!!!!

Waterpark in the Winter

The boys had some money they got for Christmas so we decided to take a break from the yucky winter weather and go to the indoor water park on Thursday. Jared even got to leave work a little early to come with us (now he just has to work more hours this weekend). It was really nice because there were only about 15-20 other people there so it was easy to keep track of the boys. They loved playing with Aunt Nellie in the wave pool, going down the slides, and shooting the big waterguns. Pason was even brave enough to stand under the big huge bucket that dumps water all over. Eli wasn't to sure what to think of it all, but he only cried when his big brothers got a little wild and splashed him in the face. We all had a good time, but I have to admit, it was a little depressing walking outside into the snow and cold when it was over. Can't wait for Spring!

First Report Card

Today we got Pason's first report card. I can't help but brag a little. He got all 3's and S's. That's as good of a report card as you can get. We also got his test scores and he scored above average and well above average in all categories. He is doing so well and we are so proud of him. He loves learning and I am always amazed at how he seems to teach himself so many things. I hope he will continue to have a desire to learn new things and to always do his best! Good work Pas!

January Blahs!

We started off the New Year with everyone (except Eli) puking and it seems like we just haven't got the hang of being healthy yet this year. I have been having headaches and chills and hot flashes, probably due to my thyroid and hormones still not being regulated. Eli has been teething and seems to be miserable due to that. The begining of last week Pason missed a morning of school because he had the chachas. Then he came home from school Wednesday with a rash and was acting funny Thursday morning so I took him to the doc and found out he had scarlet fever. This weekend Eli came down with a fever, isn't sleeping, and just acts like something hurts, so the doc put him on antibiotics today since we have the strep bacteria in our house already from Pason. I am exhausted and just can't wait for Spring so we can get some fresh air into this germ infested house! I hope I can get some sleep tonight, and I will dream about green grass, sunshine, and tulips!
