Disneyland 2009

Okay so I'm still playing catch up. Back in October...seems like a long time ago already...we took a family vacation to Disneyland. (Jared think we should make it an annual tradition to go to Disneyland for his birthday!) Actually it all started when I came across $29 tickets to LA. (That's $29 each way, but still WAY cheap!) Jared's cousin Kim (who lives like 30 minutes from Disney)had invited us earlier this year to come and stay with them sometime, and we had some Disney dollars that paid for part of our park admission. The circumstances were just begging for us to go, so we invited Jared's parents to come along and share the fun, and help with kids ;-), and off we went. We flew out of Billings Tuesday evening. Jared's parents had to drive from Cut Bank in a blizzard and missed the road being closed by about 10 minutes! Whew! Wednesday morning we got up early and started our vacation with breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen. Sidenote- If you have never been to a Disney buffet I highly recommend it. My first experience with one was on our honeymoon the morning after Jared held the ice bucket for me while I threw up. But I was glad for an empty stomach the next morning because the food was wonderful! - We had a yummy breakfast and got to say hello to Goofy, Alice, Chip, Dale, Pluto, Baloo, and Jasmine. Then we headed to Disneyland. Carter has grown quite a bit since last year and is as tall as Pason was a year ago, so he was able to go on quite a few more rides this time. He was especially looking forward to Splash Mountain. He was excited about the bigger rides and said he liked them, but if you asked him if he wanted to go again he gave a frim NO. That afternoon we went to California Adventure to catch the Pixar parade and then went back to Disneyland for a few more rides and fireworks. Unfortunately it was too windy and the fireworks were canceled. Thursday morning we again got up early for a character breakfast. This time it was the Storyteller's Cafe at the Grand Californian. Kim and her family also came with us. Her little 2 yearold boy, Grant, was so funny with the characters. Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear were there and he was carwling on the floor with them and growling, but when one of them got to close he ran back and said "No! Don't eat me!) That day was spent mostly at CA Adventure. The highlights were Screamin', Toy Story Mania, and the Alladdin show. Later we went back over to Disneyland and were able to catch the fireworks this time. They were AWESOME! Friday morning we had to get up super early because our flight left at 7 in the morning. It was a fast and furious trip, but SO Much fun! I love seeing Disneyland through the eyes of my children.

Griz Weekend

Last week Pason had Thursday and Friday off school, so we celebrated the long weekend with a little vacation (also celebrating the end of another busy season). Thursday we drove to Bozeman where the boys swam in the hotel pool and then had a late dinner with Jared's Mom, Dad, sister, and sister's boyfriend. Friday we got up and hit the road. Jared had to be in Missoula by 11:30 for a networking event (mixing work and pleasure means someone else pays for gas!) The boys and I went to Arby's where they were surprisingly VERY well behaved, and then boot shopping for Carter. That afternoon when Jared was done we went to the 3D version of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. They did pretty good with the 3D except about 2/3 of the way through the movie Carter took his glasses off claiming he couldn't see. We thought he was just sick of wearing the glasses, but when the movie was over we realized that there were so many fingerprints on the glasses he probably couldn't see out of them. Sorry Carter! We then went to dinner and back to our hotel for more swimming. Of course I forgot to take my camera. Saturday morning Jared and his Dad got to tour the U of M athletic facilities. Pason and Carter played checkers in the hotel lobby with Grandma. Then we all went to the Griz game. Jared and his Dad also got to go down on the field for pre-game. It was a beautiful day for footbal and the GRIZ won in a close game. Carter was really excited to go see cousin Jeffrey on the field after the game and even got his little football signed! After a quick dinner we had to drive home because Jared and I both had Sunday meetings. I will have to post pics later because Jared took like 160 pictures down on the field and I want him to delete some before I try to upload them all).I am still tired from such a busy weekend, but we all had lots of fun. Can't wait for Disneyland in a few weeks!

Out-numbered

I remember as a little girl I looked forward to the Father and Sons Campout each year. Why? Well besides getting to go to dinner with my mom, we usually would rent a movie. It was about the only time I wasn't outnumbered by my brothers and actually got to watch a girly movie. Fast forward and now I have 3 boys of my own. The other night we decided to have a Disney movie night. At the table we discussed what movie to watch. When Jared asked me what I would like I said Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty (my favorites!). Carter's response, "Girl movies!" I am still out-voted! I guess I'll just have to wait until New Moon comes out in November and I get to have girl's night out for any kind of "girl movie"!

What have we been doing?

I just realized it is the lst day of the month and I didn't even have one entry, so here goes. Sunday September 6th we blessed Eli. We enjoyed visiting with family that came and had a yummy dutch oven dinner afterwards. Pason started flag football, which Jared is coaching. The team has K-2nd grade so Pason looks pretty little out there, but he is having fun and starting to learn some basics. We will be busy with football games on Saturdays from now until the middle of November. I hope we have good weather! Eli had his 2 month check up on the 17th. He weighed in at 11 lbs, 15 oz, and 22.5 inches. He is a really good baby. We just can't get on any kind of schedule. Sometimes he sleeps 8 hours at night, sometimes its up every 3 hours. He is getting to be pretty smiley and especially likes attention from Carter and Pason.

We wanted to get a good picture of the boys with this cool rainbow and colored sky, but this is the best we got!

Our silly sons!
